Use of LEDs LEDs are ideal for use in applications that are subject to frequent on-off cycling, unlike fluorescent lamps which burn out more quickly when cycled frequently. Examples are small blinking bicycle lights and child/pet safety devices, which were impossible before the advent of LEDs.
