LED Heat It is a common misconception that LEDs generate no heat. A small amount of unavoidable heat is produced by the semiconductor junction when the LED is in operation. Torches with large LED arrays generally use aluminium bodies to help dissipate this heat and keep the devices relatively cool in use.
