Wind Power Intermittency

Wind generation is often described as being intermittent because of days when the wind doesn't blow. This suggests a supply that is on-off which is misleading. Whilst available wind varies, it rarely (if at all) goes completely to zero, nor to maximum output. It is also possible to 'fill in the gaps' by storing excess electricity generated when demand is low.

  • Sat 1 Jun 2007 : Our large-array LED torches are back in stock (PL6306 and PL6281).

  • Thu 31 May 2007 : Maintenance upgrade providing us with a more dynamic site, addition of a links page (and first link www.gcse.com), and the begining of a product photography facelift.

  • Fri 09 Mar 2007 : Maintenance upgrade.

  • Mon 26 Feb 2007 : New products added and site functionality upgraded. We now stock a 68 LED torch (100 and 128 LED torches due soon), a 10 LED aluminium solar powered torch, a Faraday powered torch, and three wind-up dynamo torch models (one of which doubles as a front bicycle lamp). The website now allows us to show expected delivery dates for products temporarily out of stock.

  • Tue 19 Dec 2006 : Search facility and Google Ads added to the site.
